Professional School Photographers from Captured Moments Photography

Your school photographer should be full of fun whilst competent and capable of taking excellent images.

For School Photography, creative props can be used to set a scene, or a traditional setting, an outdoor spot or a white backdrop to produce high key images for the modern look. Alternatively the more traditional or black and white images offer a whole different look altogether. Finding the right style of imagery is vital to help tie in the ethos of the school and to bring out and capture the children’s unique, individual personalities.

The school photographer’s job is to create a relaxed, friendly environment where the children can feel at ease and enjoy their session. It is important that the school photographer has a natural ability to communicate with the children. They must be kind and above all, extremely patient. The ideal school photographer will work skillfully with each child, quickly able to communicate and build up a rapport. They should also be able to utilize, where required, the teacher or other children that may be around to help the shy children to come out of their shells and blossom in front of the camera. Being patient, flexible and inventive are key qualities in your photographer.

To help you find the right school photographer, we recommend word of mouth and feedback from parents and teachers at other schools, this is always the best. Alternatively, look on the internet, find someone who’s website interests you, and then call them. First impressions over the phone will be a great indicator as to whether both you and the children will be able to gel with the photographer. It is recommended to get together with the photographer, to check their product range and ensure they have CRB certificates, before committing to booking a photo session.

The connection and relationship between you, the children and the photographer will show in the photographs. Take a look at their portfolio; discuss the various options available. Does the photographer offer single pose or multi pose proofing for the parents to choose from. As well as the traditional school pack, which consists of a variety of sizes, it is now quite common for them to offer an additional range of products, such as; key rings, bookmarks and canvases to name just a few.

Overall the school photographer should be at ease with the children, minimize the work required of the school, provide the parents with a choice of quality images and an efficient service that will compliment the photographs of their children, leaving everyone happy and satisfied.
